In 2008, Goodyear won the All-America City Award, sponsored by the National Civic League. The city is named after the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, when the company had farmland to grow cotton for their tires. The city is home to the Goodyear Ballpark, where the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds of the MLB practice their spring training. Goodyear constantly strives to distinguish itself and was recently honored with both the prestigious All-America City designation and the esteemed Most Livable City Award. Goodyear’s desert vistas, majestic mountains, master-planned communities with lakes, country clubs, golf courses, and active outdoor lifestyle have already attracted more than 66,000 people from all over the country. A new ballpark and spring training experience, great golf, numerous hotels, scenic mountains, a thriving retail market, fabulous housing developments, and great outdoor amenities.
